You don't need to be an elite to have a coach. Having a coach is all about getting the best out of yourself for a specific event or adventure. This depends on many things such as; "you" (skills, personality, motivation, experience, age, sex, fitness), how much time you can commit to training and what your goals are. I will help you make efficient use of your time and include things that are often forgotten about such as; recovery, strength/mobility training, nutrition and getting your head in the right place. Programs are designed specifically for you.

I work with a lot of Peri and Post menopausal woman helping them adjust their training to work with the hormonal changes.   This not only enables them to achieve their athletic goals but also sets the foundations to a future where they can continue to be strong and fit enough to keep doing the adventures that we love.


Running Technique

Good running technique will increase your running efficiency which can lead to improved performance, reduce the risk of injury and make running more fun! Analysis of your running technique will include:
  1. A detailed look at your running/injury background
  2. Mobility
  3. Co-ordination
  4. Explanation of which muscle groups are best used for running (activation & strengthening options)
  5. Posture
  6. Foot placement and stride length.

Technical Running
If you are worried about rocks, roots, uphills, downhills, boulder hopping etc. I can help you tackle these to feel confident and light footed.

Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is an exercise and fitness activity which uses specially designed poles whilst fitness walking. It enhances and intensifies natural walking by incorporating the use of the upper body giving a total body workout!

Nordic Walking has been designed to use as many muscles as possible it’s a very effective way to exercise without the extra stress on your muscles and joints.  Using specially designed lightweight poles I will teach you how to use the Nordic Walking technique to improve your posture, your balance and your co-ordination.  There are heaps of benefits but you do need instruction to understand how to use the poles to your advantage. The correct sized Nordic Walking poles will be supplied during your sessions.

About Me
I have been coaching since 2007 and work with complete beginners through to podium athletes. Whether its your first 5km, an Ultramarathon, Coast to Coast or an Adventure race, I can help you achieve your goals. I'm based in Christchurch but work with clients all over New Zealand and overseas.

I have had the privilege to compete in many events & adventures including; Cross Country, Ultra Runs, Coast to Coast, Godzone, Spring Challenge, Cyclocross, Rogaines and Brevets
